House Isneril descends from Elwyn Isneril, the artificer who first discovered the process of making runeglass in 867 AUC, an invention that has made the family wealthy beyond counting. They are the most recent house to be raised to princely status, something that members of other houses does not let them forget.
They have a monopoly on runeglass furnaces, operating around a dozen of them around the city. Work in the furnaces is labor-intensive, hard, and dirty, and does not pay very well.
The retinue of House Isneril is mostly employed to guard their furnaces, as much against thieves as from the workers. The Isneril retinue is feared by the lowborn of the city, as they have been known to press-gang people into working at a furnace.
The orange crest of House Isneril is a geometric pattern, akin to refractions through runeglass.
Cael Isneril
House Isneril have a large waterfront home on the east side of the Inner City. Each east-facing window has a different runeglass mosaic, with the largest depicting a dragon fight.
