House Beckett

Truth Conquers All

House Beckett rules the county of Covenant. Their power is mostly limited to the land surrounding the capital, which itself is ruled by the Council of Estia directly. Has a long-standing feud with House Tuveren, dating back to before the fall of the Empire.

The Beckett coat of arms consists of four fields, the top left and bottom right a silver moon on green, the top right and bottom left silver annulets on black.

Family members

Roscoe Beckett

(human artificer, LN, 57):

Count of Covenant. Sits on the Council in the seat awarded to his family. His wife holds the seat representing Covenant. He is an inventor who spends what little free time he has tinkering in his workshop.

Count Roscoe served a term as Speaker of Estia before Speaker Portia was elected. He has since redoubled his political ambitions. Together with his wife, they are one of the most powerful couples in Estian politics.

Calliope Beckett

(human wizard, LE, 52):

Younger sister of Count Roscoe. Sits on the Council as Treasurer of the Estian League, responsible for administering the incomes and payments of the government. She is a brilliant wizard, trained at the Archive in Greystone. Married to Arhilwyn nan Iacaris, an elven sorceress, with whom she lives in Covenant. Her appointment as Treasurer was a hard-fought compromise - a Tuveren speaker would never nominate a Beckett to this role without being forced.

Curtis Beckett

(human, CN, 29):

Count Roscoe's son. He is a playboy who has never cared for politics, preferring business and money - not all of it legitimate. Can usually be found betting on horses at the Oakhead Downs.

Annabelle Beckett

(human rogue, NE, 24):

Daughter of Count Roscoe and Lady Catherine. Is betrothed to Alvin Cassaro in a political marriage.

Julianna Beckett

(human, CG, 20):

Youngest daughter to Count Roscoe and Lady Catherine. Has a covert relationship with Remus Tuveren, whose house are House Beckett's main rivals for power in southern Estia.

Defiance Beckett

(tiefling, LE, 39):

His birth caused a minor scandal, as there hadn't been a tiefling born among Estian nobility in well over a hundred years. It was speculated that his mother had an extramarital affair, but these rumours were fervently denied.

Deceased

Isobel Beckett

(human bard, LG, 1141-1225):

First Countess of Covenant and the first Speaker of the Estian Council. A master diplomat, philosopher, and politician, Isobel was the leading architect behind the Estian constitution and helped negotiate its passage with the city-states. She served as Speaker for four full terms, and is buried in the Temple of Heimdall in a tomb of black marble.

Archibald Beckett

(human bard, LN, 1328-1410):

Count of Covenant who served as Speaker for several non-consecutive terms.

Lilith Darkcandle

(human warlock, LE, 1351-1419):

Examiner of Abelin College. She is known to have had dealings with fiendish entities in her research.

Manor Beckett

Their manor in the Upper Tier is the largest private residence in Covenant, and has a stunning view of the ocean from their immaculate gardens.
