Almena is the owner of Bee Your Shelf, a small bookshop in Honeypot. She uses the profits from her store to fund her magical research.

Background

Almena Arantor (almena arantor, lit 'Cloudy Gold-berry' ) grew up in Goldshore with her parents and her twin brother Edvar. Edvar was born one minute before Almena, and was both smarter and taller than her. They were almost inseparable as children.

One day, a red dragon attacked Goldshore and Almena's entire family died in the attack. Luckily, she was not home when the dragon struck, and came home to find out she was alone.

While some would strive for revenge, Almena instead wanted to find a way for things to get back to how they were, and started seeking out dark magic. She joined Abelin College, but never made it through the Trials. Regardless, she did learn a lot about magic during her studies.

For many years afterwards, she took up odd jobs and stayed wherever she could find room, always researching magic that might bring her brother back. Eventually, she arrived in Honeypot and took a job at a bookstore named Bee Your Shelf, under a gnome named Revan Mintlock. She worked for Revan for almost 15 years, and when Revan died in 1411 AUC, he left the store to Almena.

As time passed in Honeypot, Almena changed as a person, realizing that the track she was on would not end well. Honeypot was a decent place to live after all, and now that she owned the store she could furnish the basement as she needed for her magical experiments. Upstairs, she sells books and scrolls to the local populace.

Recently, Almena came across a reference to Vanessa Moonhallow in a book. Vanessa was the court wizard to Tristan Honeybramble, the last Baron of Honeypot. Vanessa was a powerful illusionist, and her spellbook is sure to hold many secrets.

Appearance and Personality

Almena has golden eyes and charcoal hair. Her hair is naturally streaked with gold. She wears deep purple robes and a black apron, fastened with a golden wrapping and several belts. When keeps her spellbook (which she uses as an arcane focus) and other supplies she needs in a side-slung messenger bag she always brings when she leaves her shop.
