Belladonna

The belladonna, or deadly nightshade, is a beautiful plant with black flowers that is very toxic. It grows in temperate climates, preferring shady groves with rich soil. The roots, leaves, and especially its spherical black berries all contain a powerful toxin. While a small dose might only cause delirious hallucinations, a larger dose induces paralysis or death.
