This basket-hilted rapier has floral patterns engraved along the blade, and its hilt is embossed with gilt oak leaves. It is both a duelist's weapon, optimized for glorious single combat against a skilled opponent, and a fashion statement.
Dormant
- You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls with this rapier.
- Blade Flourishes: Once per turn when you hit a creature with this weapon and your other hand is empty, you can expend and roll one of your Bardic Inspiration dice to deal extra damage to the target. You also gain a special effect depending on the type of flourish:
- Defensive Flourish: You assume a defensive stance after landing a hit, gaining a bonus to your AC equal to the extra damage until the start of your next turn.
- Slashing Flourish: You swirl your blade in an overhead slash, dealing the extra damage to all creatures of your choice within your reach.
- Mobile Flourish: You knock your opponent off balance, pushing the target away from you a number of feet equal to the extra damage dealt, rounded up to the nearest multiple of 5. The target must not be more than one size larger than you.
Awakened
- The bonus to attack and damage rolls with this rapier increases to +2.
- When you use a Blade Flourish, your walking speed increases by 10 feet until the end of your turn.
Exalted
- The bonus to attack and damage rolls with this rapier increases to +3.
- When you use a Blade Flourish, you can roll a d6 and use it instead of expending a Bardic Inspiration die.
