Armor (shield), paragon (requires attunement by a Cleric)

This shield is made from translucent plates of multi-colored runeglass, a stained window mosaic depicting a deity. The shield is made in the shape of the deity's symbol. While the shield might look fragile, it is very strong, capable of protecting its user against the mightiest of blows.

Shields like this are only rewarded to clerics have performed a great service to their deity, as a symbol of their devotion.

Dormant

  • While holding this shield, you gain a +1 bonus to AC. This bonus is in addition to the shield's normal bonus to AC.
  • You gain an additional charge of your Channel Divinity. You also gain access to a new option, Channel Divinity: Answered Prayer. By spending one minute in meditation, you can exchange one of your prepared Cleric spells for another spell on that spell list.
  • When you finish a short or long rest, you gain the effects of the Sanctuary spell, which lasts forever (the spell can still end as normal).

Awakened

  • You gain a +1 bonus to your spell attack rolls, and your spell save DC increases by 1.
  • You are permanently under the effects of the Bless spell.

Exalted

  • The shield's bonus to AC and spell attack rolls and spell save DC increases to +2.
  • When you use Divine Intervention, roll 50 (1d100). If you roll below your level, you do not expend your use of that feature.
