If the target humanoid dies while the spell is active, its soul is condensed into a soul gem, which can be used as an essence for crafting magic items. The target cannot be resurrected while the soul gem is intact. The gem can be shattered and the soul within released with the Remove Curse spell. Items made with essences created through this spell have a 50% chance of becoming sentient, imbuing the soul's consciousness in the final product.
The essence type depends on the target's alignment, and the rarity of the essence depends on the targets CR or class levels, whichever is highest.
