Gods who rule over the Tempest domain govern the storms, sea, and skies. In the Estian pantheon, Thor and Aegir share this domain. The Stormlord is rules the skies, and the Waveshepherd is king of the waves. Other gods of thunder and lightning include Zeus, Poseidon, Talos, Umberlee, Kord, and Manannan mac Lir. This is an update of the 5e14 Tempest domain.
Followers of the Tempest deliver swift justice to the enemies of their faith by way of thunderbolts. They are also often responsible for preparing ships for ocean voyages, in order to not incur any wrath from above or below.
Level 3: Tempest Domain Spells
You always have certain spells prepared after you reach the Cleric level shown in the following table.
Cleric Level | Spells |
---|---|
3 | Fog Cloud, Thunderwave, Gust of Wind, Electrocute |
5 | Call Lightning, Sleet Storm |
7 | Control Water, Storm Sphere |
9 | Destructive Wave, Control Winds |
Level 3: Wrath of the Storm
You can thunderously rebuke attackers. When a creature hits you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to cause the creature to make a Dexterity saving throw. The creature takes 9 (2d8) lightning or thunder damage (your choice) on a failed saving throw, and half as much on a successful one.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier, and you regain all uses when you finish a long rest.
Level 3: Channel Divinity: Destructive Wrath
When you roll lightning or thunder damage, you can use your Channel Divinity to deal maximum damage, instead of rolling.
Level 6: Thunderbolt Strike
When you deal lightning damage to a Large or smaller creature, you can also push it up to 10 feet away from you.
Level 17: Stormborn
You gain a flying speed and a swim speed equal to your walking speed, and you can breathe underwater.
