When some druids look to the stars at night, others gather to worship the singular day-star which gives warmth to the world. They are defenders of the living against the forces of darkness that haunt the night. Some of these druids even serve sun-deities like Freya, Pelor, or Apollo, performing services almost like clerics.
Level 3: Circle spells
You always have certain spells prepared after you reach the Druid level shown in the following table.
Druid Level | Spell |
---|---|
3rd | Guiding Bolt, Bless, Lesser Restoration, Heat Metal |
5th | Daylight, Mass Healing Word |
7th | Brilliant Halo, Aura of Life |
9th | Dawn, Greater Restoration |
Level 3: Radiant Form
As a bonus action, you can expend a use of Wild Shape to light up with the radiance of the sun. You shed bright light within a 30-foot emanation, and dim light for an additional 30 feet. This effect lasts for 1 minute, and it ends early if you become Incapacitated.
As part of activating this ability, and as a bonus action on subsequent turns while this effect lasts, you can focus your light at a creature within 60 feet. Make a ranged spell attack roll against the target. On a hit, they take 7 (2d6) + your Wisdom modifier radiant damage.
Additionally, you gain 120 feet of darkvision.
Level 6: Resplendant Dawn
All light conjured by your levelled spells and subclass features is considered to be sunlight, and while you are in your Radiant Form, your darkvision pierces magical darkness.
Additionally, you gain resistance to radiant damage and you have advantage on saving throws to end or avoid the Blinded condition.
Level 10: Coronal Mass Ejection
Your Radiant Form now lasts 10 minutes and when you activate it a blinding burst of sunlight surrounds you, forcing creatures of your choice within a 30-foot emanation to make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC, or take 14 (4d6) radiant damage and be Blinded until the start of your next turn.
Level 14: Brilliance of the Sun
While you are in your Radiant Form, you are permanently under the effects of Brilliant Halo, without needing to concentrate on it. For you, the spell also gains a range of Touch, letting you cast it on others as well.
