Rhoyna Sersiter, elven warrior of the glaivebow
Monks who follow this tradition train their whole lives with a single weapon, the versatile glaivebow. It is a favored weapon among elves, but other cultures are also known to employ it, much to the chagrin of some elf supremacists, who view it as their heritage. A well-trained wielder of a glaivebow can run and shoot at the same time, before seamlessly switching to close combat, making them a whirlwind of steel at any range.
The traditional outfit for an elven glaivebow warrior is a skirt consisting of wide strips of cloth that flutter around when they move, making their footwork harder to read. The skirt is secured with a rope belt, which also holds a hip quiver of arrows. Men usually wear nothing on the upper body, while women wear tight wrappings around their chest. Some also wrap ribbons of cloth around their ankles and wrists for support and protection.
Level 3: Training with Blade and Bow
You gain proficiency with glaivebows, an exotic combined weapon that consists of a double-bladed scimitar and a longbow. Both of its forms counts as a monk weapon for you.
Additionally, you can replace the Unarmed Strike from Martial Arts with a glaivebow melee attack, and when you do this, you can also use Step of the Wind or Patient Defense with the same bonus action.
Level 6: Spinslash
As an action, you can rapidly swirl your glaivebow around yourself until the end of your turn, letting you make a melee attack against any creature of your choice that you move within reach of. You can only attack each creature once when you do this.
Once you do this, you cannot do it again until you finish a short or long rest. You can also spend 2 Focus Points to regain the use of this feature (no action required).
Level 11: Coup de Grace
If you reduce a target to 0 hit points with a Glaivebow attack, any Focus Points you spend on Step of the Wind or Patient Defense on that turn are refunded.
Level 17: Flurry of Steel
You are able to deliver rapid strikes that your opponents do not have time to react to. Once on each of your turns when you miss with an attack using a Glaivebow, you can make an another attack with a Glaivebow as part of the same action.
