Loki the Deceiver is almost never worshipped openly within the borders of Estian civilization. Acolytes of Loki usually keep their beliefs a secret, even from others who might share the same faith. The one exception to this are the Drow elves of the Underdark, who openly worship Loki as the Spider Prince, ever plotting to advance the standing of their houses.
Ever a trickster, Loki takes many forms, but his most famous visage is that of a tall elf, far more fair-looking than his usual intentions. When he requires it, he can cloak himself in darkness itself, rendering him unseen to all but the most powerful eyes.
Loki and his followers have many ways of gathering intelligence on his enemies, including mortal spies, monstrous scouts, and powerful divination magic. Many have been caught up in one of his plots wholly without their knowledge.
Divine Relationships
Servants and Saints
Loki has spawned many children throughout the eons. The most infamous, and the one most feared by his enemies, is the great wolf Fenrir.
Loki is also the father of the giants.
Stories of Loki
The Chained God
After Loki unleashed Fenrir, the other gods intervened to stop the threat. Only by smithing a great chain could the wolf be bound and cast into the Shadowfell, but not before it had maimed Tyr's hand. As a punishment for this act, Loki was exiled from Asgard and imprisoned in the deepest reaches of the world, bound with the same chain that once held his wolf. He remained imprisoned for well over a millennium before escaping.
Endtime Commander
Odin has foreseen that Loki will lead the forces opposing the gods during Ragnarok . In his inscrutable wisdom, Odin has refused to act on this, fearing that trying to prevent a prophecy is only a path to fulfilling it.
Loki's favor
Loki's followers are not all outright evil, but the faith is very individualistic. There is no central organization for Loki worship, and many temples are hidden from plain sight. However, those who know the signs can often find their way to others who share their persuasion.
Temples to Loki are usually underground, often a cellar converted from normal use by the founder of the temple. Those who follow the Deceiver often call their faith the Mysteries, and the first step in the initiation ritual is to find the temple itself.
A common layout of the central room of the temple is a circular room, sloping down or tiered towards the middle in concentric circles. At the center, a statue of Loki in his elven guise. This statue often depicts him chained up. Adherents pray or listen to sermons on small kneeling pads placed around the room.
