Saint Horatio was born around 730 AUC in Sacellea. A gifted poet and orator, he devoted his life to serving Balder, founding several temples to his honor. On his deathbed, Balder sent a celestial messenger who brought him up to Asgard, in front of many witnesses.
Upon his ascension, only his skeleton was left behind. The bones were preserved and set in an ornate case of runeglass. Several larger pieces, including his cranium, have been decorated with gems and metal wire, and the bones are surrounded by enchanted flowers.
For centuries, the reliquary was displayed prominently in the Temple of Balder in Sacellea, before it was stolen. Those who made the pilgrimage to the skull report Saint Horatio speaking to them, answering prayers with short poems.
