Dominant culture: Nomadic
Patron deity: Thor
At the end of a steep fjord lies Jorundfell, an isolated village where the old customs are still observed. The village is located on a slope down to the rocky shore, and no roads lead here.
Life here is tough, but its people are up for the challenge. The woods are teeming with monsters, the sea is cold and raging, and supplies are rare. Despite the hardship, the villagers would not have it any other way. Jorundfell is home to them, and is worth fighting for.
Politics
The Oakenmane clan has ruled Jorundfell for hundreds of years.
Chieftain Olaf Oakenmane
(human ranger, LN, 59): Olaf is a fair ruler, respected by his subjects.
Economy
Out of necessity, Jorundfell is self-succificient in most things. The rocky windswept landscape is not well suited for agriculture, and fish make up the bulk of meals here.
In the autumn, the reindeer herders bring their flocks down from the mountains. This is usually marked with a feast.
Only a few ships moor here every year, trading mead, herbs, reindeer meat, and dried fish.
Locations
Most buildings in Jorundfell are made of hewn logs on a stone foundation, with thatched roofs. The vast pine forests of the Reaches provide ample building material and other supplies, but specialty materials (such as glass and tile) are hard to come by.
Longhouse
The longhouse stands proud over a rocky outcropping in the middle of the village. It is the seat of Chieftain Olaf Oakenmane, and also serves as the armory for the village's militia, activated in time of crisis.
Bodvar Oakenmane
(human barbarian, LE, 54): Younger brother of Chieftain Olaf, Bodvar commands the militia. In his prime, he was a very dangerous fighter with his two axes.
Shrine of Thor
Holy place of Thor
Cleric
(dwarf cleric, CG, 86):

Innkeeper
(human, NG, 41):
Forge
Rare workshop
Ragnborg Hammerbellow
(dwarf, TN, 61): Expert smith, her perpetually soot-stained brow a symbol of dedication to her craft. She has worked her forge almost every day for decades.
Hester's Hut
A few minutes walk outside the village, overlooking the fjord, lies a small hut surrounded by a lush herb garden. Here, minor injuries and maladies are treated by Hester Crowsong, a very wise woman.
Hester Crowsong
(human druid, TN, 141): Old beyond memory, Hester is the village wise-woman. She has served in this role since Chieftain Olaf's grandfather was chieftain, but age is finally catching up to her. She has had apprentices over the years, but there is no clear successor.
